Review of The Phantom Queen Awakes

An interesting review of The Phantom Queen Awakes, by someone not really interested in reading Morrigan Books’ releases (apparently we’re too dark)…

The White Heifer of Fearchair by T.A. Moore. It’s one of the few stories that has absolutely nothing to do with war (or so you may think) and is a retelling of an old Irish story. (More or less – I don’t recall it being very similar to this story, but I could very easily be thinking of a wholly different one.) It’s very sad, in its way, but there’s a certain beauty in that sadness – the way the details are captured and how a lot is said without words. ’tis a pretty, pretty thing…

The Phantom Queen Awakes now available for pre-order!

Love, death and war…

The Morrigan goddess represented all three to the ancient Celts. Journey with our authors as they tell stories of love, war, hatred, revenge and mortality - each featuring the Morrigan in her many guises.

Re-visit the world of Deverry, and of Nevyn, with a previously unpublished tale by Katharine Kerr, watch the Norse gods meet their Celtic counterparts with Elaine Cunningham, meet a druid who dances for the dead with C.E. Murphy and follow the path of a Roman centurion with Anya Bast.

These are but a few offerings from the stories collection in The Phantom Queen Awakes. If you are searching for a rich blend of dark fantasy, then this is a collection perfect for you.

Today I am very pleased to announce that joining Katherine Kerr and Elaine Cunningham within the pages of The Phantom Queen Awakes anthology is C. E. Murphy, bestselling author of The Negotiator Trilogy and The Inheritors’ Cycle, published by Del Rey.
